The shop on Bay 22ndOne glazier, one number, fifteen years of openings
Montalvo LLC is deliberately small. The person who quotes your glass is the person who cuts the template and shows up with the panel.
From a storefront crew to his own tape
Harry came up on commercial glazing crews in the boroughs, hanging shop fronts on avenues where the sidewalk never empties. He learned the parts of the job nobody photographs: how an old lintel sags, how much a frame moves between a February measure and a June install, which fabricator polishes an edge you can run a hand along.
In 2011 he put his own name on the truck. Since then Montalvo Glass has stayed a small outfit on Bay 22nd Street, working for shop owners, supers, contractors and the neighbors who found us because we boarded up the bodega two doors down at midnight.
Nothing here is a franchise script. If a repair beats a replacement, we say so; if the glass you asked for is wrong for the opening, we explain why before anyone spends money.
What fifteen winters add up to
Habits that keep glass out of the trash
Nothing gets cut off a phone photo. We template the opening, allow for the frame and the setting blocks, and only then send sizes to the fabricator.
Doors, sidelights and shower walls get tempered. Storefronts and overhead work get laminated. We will not save you fifty dollars that way.
Harry plus one or two glaziers he has worked with for years. No rotating subs learning your building on the day.
Each opening listed with its glass type, hardware and price. Ask what a line means and you get an answer, not a shrug.
Ask Harry before you order glass
Two minutes on the phone usually settles what glass an opening needs. Leave a number and he calls you back.
